This volume combines the
original texts of Ma and Pa and Model Wife. In Ma and Pa, Rose
recalls her childhood growing up in Longueville, New South Wales,
over a century ago.
Model Wife continues her
story from earliest modelling days to her life with Norman Lindsay.
She recounts numerous anecdotes about national and international
figures which, apart from their historical interest, are perceptive
insights into many well-known indentities.
Published here for the
first time are Rose's own quirky pen and ink illustrations to
Ma and Pa. Model Wife contains a rich collection of photographs,
drawings and paintings, many in colour.
Rose Lindsay: A Model
Life includes never before published material by Rose on Elioth
Gruner, Percy Grainer, Miles Franklin and H.G. Wells. For the
first time, Rose describes in her own words, the fire in America
which destroyed so many of Norman Lindsay's fine works.
